Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Carlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carlo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to NFG-Anthem for the Unwanted. Axe has chosen For Whom the Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlo swinging wildly here.

Carlo forces Axe back against the cage and clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Carlo just misses with a elbow thrown towards Axe's brow.
Carlo throws a knee to the head but misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Axe throws an elbow but misses.
Carlo digs a right hand underneath Axe's ribcage. Axe let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Carlo manages to break the clinch.
Carlo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Axe instigates a clinch.
Axe stops a takedown attempt from Carlo.
Carlo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Axe pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Carlo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Axe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Carlo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Carlo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlo shoots in looking for a takedown. Axe tries to sprawl out of it but Carlo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Axe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carlo.

Carlo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Carlo is working for a kimura but Axe is defending it quite comfortably.

Axe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carlo pulls his head out easily.
Axe is looking to control Carlo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Axe avoid being mounted?
Carlo wants to take a breather but Axe is having none of it.

Axe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carlo is working away from the top position though.

Axe pushes Carlo off but Carlo dives into side control.

Axe wants to get back to his feet but Carlo drags him back down.
Carlo is looking to take a break and control but Axe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carlo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Axe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Carlo has hold of Axe's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Axe seems comfortable defending it but Carlo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Axe is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Axe is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Carlo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
