Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Karl Grossman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grossman comes to the cage accompanied by The Devil's Rejects. Soto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Busta Rhymes Feat Eminem - I'll Hurt You kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karl Grossman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luiz Soto!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grossman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grossman wants it to stay on the feet.
Soto closes the distance and clinches up with Grossman, looking for a takedown. Soto pushes Grossman against the cage but Grossman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Soto shoots in but Grossman avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Karl Grossman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Soto.
Grossman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Soto ducks under a wild hook from Grossman.
Nice sprawl there from Grossman as Soto shoots in.

Soto shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Grossman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Grossman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Soto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grossman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Grossman pulls Soto in close to prevent any damage.
Soto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grossman is keeping the position for now.
Soto distracts Grossman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Grossman has control of Soto's left arm, preventing Soto from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grossman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Karl Grossman wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Soto closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Grossman's guard.
Grossman controls Soto momentarily but Soto frees himself.
Grossman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Soto keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Grossman's head.
Grossman is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Soto trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Soto makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Soto passes Grossman's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Soto lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grossman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Soto.
Soto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Grossman's head.
Grossman is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Grossman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Soto is working away from the top position though.
Grossman trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Soto manages to pass to mount!
Soto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Soto lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Grossman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Soto looking to finish Grossman with some ground and pound. This is bad for Grossman!
Soto lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Grossman hang on?
Soto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Grossman can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Grossman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soto thowing shots but they're missing.
Soto unloads with some shots from mount but Grossman bucks and avoids them well.
Grossman is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grossman is bucking up trying to escape but Soto cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Soto with good strikes from the mount here!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Soto cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Soto lands a big shot there that rocks Grossman but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Grossman is rocked!
Soto lands a heavy elbow.
Oh Grossman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Soto drops a big elbow. That's hurt Grossman! More shots from Soto and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luiz Soto!
An out of breath Luiz Soto thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
