Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Pender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toni Urg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Pender has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Pender!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toni Urg!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Urg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Urg lands in his opponent's guard.

Pender is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Urg defends well.
Pender wants to stand up but Urg is controlling him.
Urg tries to free his leg and advance position but Pender is retaining full guard.
Pender will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Urg preventing the sweep.

Pender isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Urg stacks Pender on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Urg!

Urg tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Pender can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pender is looking to reverse the position.
Pender is trying to control Urg's posture but Urg avoids it.

Pender prevents Urg from moving into mount.

Urg wants to control but Pender is keeping him busy.
Pender sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pender wants to get back to full guard.

Pender has control of Urg's left arm, preventing Urg from doing any damage.
Pender on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pender tries to get out of the position.
Pender wants to stand and escape but Urg is having none of it.

Pender is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Pender seems keen to control Urg's posture.
Urg slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Pender.

Pender flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Pender has a hand on Urg's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Urg takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Pender wants to hold on but Urg pushes him away.
Pender tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Pender wants to control but Urg is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pender will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Urg wants to control but Pender is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pender seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Nick Pender has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Pender throws a big right hand that misses.
Pender has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Urg not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Urg is breathing heavily.
Urg wants to get back to his feet but Pender is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Urg is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pender is controlling him.

Pender knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Urg on the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pender.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pender stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Nick Pender is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pender tries to close the distance and clinch up but Urg swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pender changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Urg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pender thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The ground and pound from Pender seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Urg struggling a bit here.
Pender takes a little break here. Urg wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pender creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Urg sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Urg is looking to reverse the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pender moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Nick Pender has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Horrible takedown by Urg or perhaps it was just good defense by Pender which made him look bad.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pender misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Urg gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pender to score an easy takedown into full guard.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Pender.

Pender closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pender throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Still in half guard, Pender seems content to control.
Pender wants to get back to his feet.
Pender perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nick Pender.

Pender gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pender is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Urg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pender decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Pender wants to free his trapped foot but Urg is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pender passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Urg!
Pender throwing strikes here but Urg is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Pender tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Urg wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Pender.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pender sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Pender content just to control the position here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pender drops a big elbow. That's hurt Urg! More shots from Pender and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
