The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cell throws an overhand right that lands on McBain's shoulder, as McBain tries to avoid the shot.
A bone on bone clash there as McBain blocks the leg kick.
McBain moves away from the strike by Cell.
McBain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Stem Cell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McBain steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cell.

McBain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McBain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cell can pounce on him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cell tries to close the distance and clinch but McBain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McBain catches Cell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Stem Cell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Cell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McBain, pushing him back against the cage.
McBain tries to break free but Cell pushes him back against the cage.
McBain wants to break the clinch but can't.

McBain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McBain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cell dips to his left and cracks McBain with an uppercut!
Cell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Cell has McBain up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McBain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cell falls off balance throwing a combination
and McBain counters with a straight right hand.
Cell tries to clinch there but McBain circles away.
McBain takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
McBain misses with a body kick.
Cell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McBain was well out of range. Poor timing from Cell.
McBain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McBain rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cell takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Peter McBain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

McBain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cell was well out of range. Poor timing from McBain.
Cell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McBain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cell stuns McBain with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
