Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Musashimaru Koyo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iiro Tolonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koyo comes to the cage accompanied by "Tengoku Kara Kaminari" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole . Tolonen has chosen Johnny Cash : The Man Comes Around as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Musashimaru Koyo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 42 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iiro Tolonen!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tolonen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Koyo avoids the head kick by Tolonen.
Iiro Tolonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tolonen lands with a kick to the temple. Koyo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Musashimaru Koyo has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tolonen keeps Koyo at a distance using the push kick.
Tolonen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Koyo's calf.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tolonen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Koyo's head backwards.

Koyo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Koyo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Koyo counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tolonen!
The ground and pound from Koyo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Koyo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Koyo in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Tolonen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Koyo.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koyo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

and Koyo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Koyo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koyo is trying to control the action in half guard but Tolonen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tolonen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Koyo.

Tolonen cracks Koyo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Tolonen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Koyo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Tolonen wants to take a breather but Koyo manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Tolonen.

Tolonen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Koyo is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The referee asks Tolonen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tolonen prefers to stall for the moment though.

Tolonen laying and praying for a moment but Koyo takes advantage and regains half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Koyo is not content to let Tolonen control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Iiro Tolonen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tolonen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
