Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fernandes Cardoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilias Iliadis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iliadis has chosen Until it sleeps as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ilias Iliadis enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ilias Iliadis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iliadis shoots in and bounces Cardoso off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Cardoso is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cardoso looking for a guillotine here but Iliadis defends easily.

Cardoso is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Iliadis is aware though and is defending well.
Iliadis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Iliadis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cardoso's guard.
Iliadis wants to control but Cardoso is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Iliadis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Iliadis working over Cardoso with some ground and pound. Cardoso looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Iliadis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cardoso might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Iliadis passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cardoso!

Cardoso is looking for a sweep. Iliadis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cardoso is trying to stand up here but Iliadis is controlling him well.

Cardoso looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Iliadis is fending him off so far but Cardoso persists. Nope, Iliadis circles away and we're back to standing.

Let's hope that Iliadis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Iliadis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Iliadis seems to be working for a kimura but Cardoso defends the submission attempt.

Iliadis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cardoso throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ilias Iliadis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Iliadis clinches up with Cardoso and pushes him back against the cage.
Cardoso jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Iliadis walks away with a smile on his face. Cardoso gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice sprawl there from Iliadis as Cardoso shoots in.

Iliadis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cardoso on his heels. He'll look to pass Cardoso's guard now, I'm sure.
Iliadis won't allow Cardoso to get back to his feet.
Iliadis cracks Cardoso with a solid left hand.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ilias Iliadis wasn't active enough on the ground.
Iliadis blocks a head kick by Cardoso.
Iliadis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cardoso avoids it really well and circles away.
Iliadis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cardoso tries to avoid it but Iliadis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cardoso to the ground. Cardoso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cardoso fails with an attempt to clinch.
Iliadis avoids the head kick by Cardoso.

Cardoso shoots in looking for a takedown. Iliadis tries to sprawl out of it but Cardoso keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Iliadis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernandes Cardoso. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cardoso wants to take a breather but Iliadis is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fernandes Cardoso wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Iliadis closes the distance and clinches up with Cardoso, looking for a takedown. Iliadis pushes Cardoso against the cage but Cardoso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Iliadis.
Cardoso has a takedown stuffed.
Iliadis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cardoso throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ilias Iliadis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Iliadis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
