Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Massive Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Storm counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Storm is keen to just control but Franklin is a slippery customer.
Storm is nestled in close to Franklin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Franklin is trying to stand back up but Storm is controlling him
Storm landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Franklin is trying to maintain the position but Storm is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Storm uses his free foot to push down on Franklin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Franklin.
Franklin is squirming around, avoiding Storm's attempts to control the action.

It looks like Bob Franklin has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Storm working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Storm lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Franklin hang on?
Franklin tries to lock up and control but Storm gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Franklin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Storm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Franklin looks winded!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Franklin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Storm with the ground and pound from mount.
Storm looking to control but Franklin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Storm postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Franklin looks a forlorn figure.
Storm fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Franklin is rocked!

Storm is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Franklin is still in real trouble! Can Storm finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Storm lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Storm loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Franklin scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Storm land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Storm stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Massive Storm!
