Aoki comes to the cage accompanied by Cudi the Kid. Ricardo Martinez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Taiki Aoki's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aoki moves into range and clinches up with Martinez.
Aoki lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Aoki gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Martinez is defending against the submission attempts here by Aoki.

Aoki is looking to take a break and control but Martinez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Aoki is looking for a kimura but Martinez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aoki to get the leverage.
Aoki frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Aoki wants to control the pace but Martinez is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I really don't envy Martinez right now.
Even with his hooks in, Aoki manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Martinez can't escape the position.

Aoki is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Martinez knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Martinez for a finish.
