The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurent throws out a loose jab but Duarte uses good head movement to avoid it.
Some bone on bone action there as Duarte checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Duarte throws a poor cross that misses
and Laurent counters with a solid body kick.
Duarte fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Laurent avoids it really well and circles away.

Laurent tries to buck Duarte off but Duarte is having none of it.

Laurent drives through and clinches with Duarte against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Laurent's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Duarte is trying to drag Laurent to the mat but Laurent just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Laurent lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Duarte drops down looking for an ankle pick but Laurent pulls his leg out and moves away.
Laurent cracks Duarte with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Duarte shoots in for a double leg but Laurent sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Laurent tries a head kick but it misses.

Duarte fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Laurent manages to avoid it.
Laurent's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Duarte connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Laurent scrambles back to his feet.
Laurent fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Duarte.
