PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes to the cage accompanied by Bon Jovi - It's my life. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Klaus Andersen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Klaus Andersen!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andersen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Savage, pushing him back against the cage.
Andersen throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Savages head.


It looks like Jackson Savage has been cut.
Savage tries to pull guard but Andersen won't allow it.
Savage is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Andersen to keep the fight standing.

Savage gets control of Andersen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Savage will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Savage is controlling Andersen's posture.
Savage is trying to keep Andersen in close.
Andersen is pushing down on Savage's leg trying to pass to half guard. Savage is fighting to maintain full guard but Andersen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Andersen is thwarting Savage's attempts to control the position.
Savage wants to get back to full guard but Andersen has passed into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Savage is trying to control Andersen's posture but Andersen avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Andersen trying to control the action but Savage is working from the bottom.
Andersen working the ground and pound but Savage is defending the strikes.
Savage sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Andersen is thwarting Savage's attempts to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Andersen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Savage does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Savage has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Andersen is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Andersen is looking to clinch.
Andersen doesn't manage to clinch there - Savage circles away.
Andersen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Savage as he jumps to the side.
Savage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Andersen gets caught napping as Savage dives in and scores a takedown. Andersen manages to retain guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Savage stays in close to Andersen's body and controls the position.
Savage wants to control from the top but Andersen keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Andersen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Savage is one step ahead there.

Andersen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Savage has picked Andersen up and slammed him! Andersen can't keep hold of the triangle and Savage manages to pass to side control!
Andersen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Savage.

Savage thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Savage trying to control the position but Andersen is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Savage is trying to ground and pound but Andersen uses the momentary lack of control by Savage to regain half guard.
Savage prevents Andersen from improving his position.
Savage is stalling here. Andersen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Savage seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Andersen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Savage tries to buck Andersen off but Andersen is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Savage dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jackson Savage's cut.
That's time! Savage's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Savage shoots in looking for a takedown but Andersen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Savage's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Andersen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Savage sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Savage plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Andersen tries to clinch but Savage moves out of range.
Andersen tries to close the distance and clinch but Savage swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Andersen has taken the fight to the clinch.

Savage jumps into guard, dragging Andersen to the mat.
Savage is trying to control the position but Andersen postures up.
Andersen trying to move into half guard but instead Savage has managed to sweep!
Andersen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Savage manages to get himself to full guard.
Andersen pushing down on Savage's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Andersen wants to control but Savage is keeping him busy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Savage is looking to get back to full guard here but Andersen has managed to pass to side control instead.
Savage tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage is working hard here to advance position.

Andersen is trying to get an arm triangle but Savage is defending well.
Andersen advances to mount.
Andersen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Savage is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Andersen putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Andersen looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Andersen tries to control but Savage wriggling away.
Andersen avoids the attempt from Savage to control.
Savage tries to reverse the position but Andersen maintains control.

Andersen scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Andersen raining down hammerfists from mount.


Jackson Savage's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Andersen avoids the attempt from Savage to control.
Savage can't escape the position.
Andersen tries to control but Savage wriggling away.
Andersen unloading with bombs!


Jeez, Jackson Savage's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jackson Savage's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Klaus Andersen!
