With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafael Narvaez!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Narvaez.
Watts connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Watts moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Narvaez throws a series of punches but Watts avoids them all with ease.
Narvaez throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Watts counters with a slapping leg kick.
Narvaez throws a jab when Watts was well out of range.
Narvaez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Watts was well out of range. Poor timing from Narvaez.
Watts misses the shot to the body.
Narvaez tries to bum rush Watts with a series of wild strikes but Watts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A chopping leg kick lands by Watts.
Watts waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Narvaez.
Nice straight punches there by Watts. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Watts.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Narvaez moves in looking to clinch but Watts pushes him off.

It looks like Usain Watts has been cut.
Narvaez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Watts circles away quickly and effectively.

Narvaez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Watts's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Narvaez wants to control from the top but Watts keeps moving.
Watts seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Rafael Narvaez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Narvaez lands a leg kick that knocks Watts off balance momentarily.

enabling Watts to counter with a crisp jab.

Watts throws a body punch but Narvaez moves out of range.
Narvaez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Watts lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Narvaez at a distance.
Watts dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Watts sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Narvaez's defenses. It connects perfectly with Narvaez's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Usain Watts!
After the fight, Usain Watts was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
