PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark comes into a darkened arena with his song building. All Fired Up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Abbott!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Clark!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Abbott lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Clark has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Clark and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Abbott shoots in looking for a takedown. Clark tries to sprawl out of it but Abbott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clark manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Abbott looks to land a body kick but Clark moved away.
Clark throws a push kick but Abbott slaps the foot to one side.
Abbott lands with a right hand.
Abbott goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Abbott counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Clark ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abbott moves away.

Clark throws a sloppy head kick and Abbott moves out of range easily.
Abbott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Clark.

Clark throws a lazy right hand but Abbott sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Eddie Clark is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Abbott throws a sloppy head kick and Clark moves out of range easily.

Clark throws a leg kick but Abbott sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Abbott takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Clark lands with a thumping leg kick.

Clark uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Abbott has time to react.

Abbott throws a leg kick but Clark moved away.

Brenden Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clark takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Abbott shoots for a double leg takedown but Clark sprawls well. He's pushed Abbott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Abbott is in a horrible position here. Clark smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Clark misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Abbott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Clark passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Abbott!

Clark can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abbott is looking to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clark has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

That was a close round but Brenden Abbott did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Abbott connects with a nice short shot to Clark's temple.
Abbott is nestled in close to Clark, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
