Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between DonT Bill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raim Bastos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bill sprawls well initially but Bastos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bill tries to get to full guard but Bastos has control of the leg.
Bill keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Bastos trying to control from half guard but Bill is working away.
Bastos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bastos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Bill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bastos is just riding it out for now. Bill eventually gives up the hold.

Bill stops Bastos from getting back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bill decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bill lands in his opponent's guard.

Bastos lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bill!
Bastos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bill is looking to escape.

Bastos wants to pass the guard but Bill is defending well.

Bill has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Bastos's lack of action.
Bastos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bill is just riding it out for now. Bastos eventually gives up the hold.
Bastos is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Bill as he works his way to full guard.

Bastos wants to control from the top but Bill keeps moving.
Bastos tries to free his leg and advance position but Bill is retaining full guard.
Bill is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bastos is controlling him.
Bill is looking for a triangle here but Bastos uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Bastos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bill but Bill pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bill manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bastos on his heels. He'll look to pass Bastos's guard now, I'm sure.
Bill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Raim Bastos wasn't active enough on the ground.

Bill is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bill throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Bastos is looking to get back to full guard here but Bill has managed to pass to side control instead.
DonT Bill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
You can see the frustration on Bastos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bastos, who protects the arm well.
Bill is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bastos knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
