Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christian Groll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Reynelds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Christian Groll has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Christian Groll seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Reynelds!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynelds pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Groll dives in and grabs Reynelds's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reynelds pushes down on Groll's head and hops out.
Groll wants to clinch.
Jim Reynelds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reynelds instigates a clinch.
Reynelds has Groll pressed against the cage, preventing Groll from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Groll looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Groll tries to throw a body punch but Reynelds avoids it by throwing Groll back against the cage.
Groll is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Groll struggles to land a body shot inside as Reynelds controls his hands.
A head punch on the inside from Reynelds fails to land.
Groll fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Reynelds misses with a hook from the clinch.
Groll blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Reynelds lands a nice uppercut.
Groll tries to score a body lock takedown but Reynelds shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Groll. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Groll is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Reynelds to keep the fight standing.
Reynelds lands with a right to the head.
Groll tries to pull guard but Reynelds forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Groll.
Reynelds prevents the takedown attempt.
A short uppercut from Reynelds.
Groll looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Reynelds has Groll pressed against the cage, preventing Groll from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Reynelds scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Groll tries to break free but Reynelds pushes him back against the cage.
Groll is trying to pull guard but Reynelds turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Groll tries for a takedown. No joy.
Groll has had enough of the clinch but Reynelds keeps him there for the moment.

Groll tries to pull guard but Reynelds holds him up against the cage and eventually Groll drops back down to his feet.
Reynelds tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Groll blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Groll is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Reynelds gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Groll is breathing heavily.
Groll swings wildly with an uppercut but Reynelds uses good head movement to avoid it.
Reynelds doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Reynelds mutters something to Groll before pushing him back against the cage. As Groll comes back towards him, Reynelds unloads a hook from the very depths of hell that knocks Groll clean out! Oh. My. God. That is some seriously brutal stuff right there! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jim Reynelds!
After winning the bout, Jim Reynelds thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
