The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sting's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Maguire connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sting scrambles back to his feet.

Sting is looking to wear down Maguire with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

and Sting counters with a nice double leg into side control. Maguire won't be happy with that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Sting looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maguire with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sting is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Maguire has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sting with the ground and pound but Maguire uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Maguire not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Maguire works over Sting's head and body with a nice combination.

Maguire dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sting. That did some damage!
Sting looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Sting shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sting was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

BOOM! Sting connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Maguire tries to lock up and control but Sting gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Maguire is bucking up trying to escape but Sting cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Maguire bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
