The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smokeleaf swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smokeleaf takes one on the button.

It looks like Jatlier Smokeleaf has been cut.
Bowman has his takedown stuffed
and Smokeleaf counters with a slapping leg kick.
Bowman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smokeleaf is fending him off so far but Bowman persists. Nope, Smokeleaf circles away and we're back to standing.
Smokeleaf ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Bowman clinches up against the ropes.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bowman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bowman wants to clinch up but Smokeleaf keeps it at a distance.
Bowman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smokeleaf as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Bowman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bowman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smokeleaf swivels and escapes.
Smokeleaf pushes Bowman away with a front kick.
Bowman is breathing heavily.
Bowman has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Smokeleaf.

and Smokeleaf decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bowman's guard.

Smokeleaf takes a little break here. Bowman wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Smokeleaf is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bowman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

You can see the frustration on Bowman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Smokeleaf has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Bowman is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Smokeleaf yanks on the arm and Bowman is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Smokeleaf.

After the fight, Jatlier Smokeleaf was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
