Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott tries to clinch

and James counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Scott pulls James in close to prevent any damage.
Scott wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Scott bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in James's guard.
James tries to strike from the bottom.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Scott trying to stand up but can't free himself from James's guard.
James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet.
Scott controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
James is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Scott moves out of range as James throws a body kick.
Some bone on bone action there as James checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and James counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

James trying to control the action but Scott is working from the bottom.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Scott pushes James away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, James gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
James in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Scott on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Scott tries to escape but James is in control.
James wants to control but Scott is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here.
Scott misses with a strike from the bottom.
James in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Scott is pushing James's head away, looking to escape. James manages to hold on to the position though.
James connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Scott some visible discomfort.

Scott is rocked!
Scott gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scott keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
James fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Scott is still in real trouble! Can James finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Scott seems to have recovered his senses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Scott in real trouble here! The ref calls for Scott to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kevin James!
During a confident post fight interview, Kevin James thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
