PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunner Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn McShane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Gunner Reed has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gunner Reed seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn McShane!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Reed looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McShane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

McShane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reed keeps working.

Reed is pushing McShane's head away, looking to escape. McShane manages to hold on to the position though.

Reed clobbers McShane with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

McShane had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reed defends it easily.
Reed is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Reed throws an elbow that misses. McShane uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reed's guard. Nice move by McShane!
Reed is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McShane is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

McShane is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Reed's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
