Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, SMALL AXE. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Allen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stone pushes Allen up against the cage in a clinch.
Stone swings wildly with an uppercut but Allen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Allen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Stone backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Allen.
Allen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Allen misses with the head strike.
Allen lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Allen misses with a hook to the ribs.
Allen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Stone's elbow.
Allen can't find room to land a body shot as Stone controls the action.
Allen misses with the head strike.
Allen tries a body shot but Stone blocks it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Barry Allen.

Allen throws a half hearted mid kick.
Stone avoids a kick to the body.
Stone cracks Allen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Allen looks to score with a jab to the body but Stone is just out of range.

Stone walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Allen. Stone does a little dance to reset his feet.
Allen throws a half hearted mid kick.
Allen tries to land a front kick but Stone steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Allen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stone sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stone slips under a jab from Allen.
Allen thows a body shot but no joy.
Allen throws a lazy right hand but Stone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

letting Allen counter with a right hand.
Allen thuds a left hand into Stone's body.
Allen misses with a hook
and Stone counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Allen throws an off balance right hand
and Stone counters with a good low kick that Allen was not able to check.
Allen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Allen misses with a looping right.
Stone steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Allen. That one must have hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Allen misses with a two punch combination.
Allen thows a body shot but no joy.
Allen lands with a right hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stone on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Stone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Barry Allen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Barry Allen.
Allen throws a body punch but Stone moves out of range.
Stone gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Stone avoids the body shot from Allen.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Allen.
Stone slips a straight right by Allen.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stone misses with a looping right.
Barry Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allen just misses with a punch to the body.

Barry Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Ben Stone wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Barry Allen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
