Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, BabyJay Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Epp!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Epp works over Penn's head and body with a nice combination.
Penn fails with the takedown.
Epp connects with a jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Penn.
Epp lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Epp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Penn.
Penn drops his hands momentarily and Epp takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Epp lands a jab-cross combination.
Epp stalks Penn and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Penn's face. Penn staggers backwards, shaken.
Eric Epp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Penn checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Epp sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Penn is trying to work for a kimura but Epp is defending well.
Epp is controlling Penn's trapped leg to prevent Penn from advancing to side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Epp gets full guard.

Penn has gone for a leg lock! Epp slips out almost immediately though and dives into Penn's guard.

Penn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Epp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Epp thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn keeping moving, preventing Epp from controlling successfully.
Epp is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Epp looking to pass the guard.

Epp lying in Penn's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Penn decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Epp taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
