Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog's entrance music is For U Phoenix Marrizle . A fine choice. Williams has chosen All the Above- Maino ft. T-Pain as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Williams!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Williams.
Williams throws a low kick but it's checked well by Dog.
Williams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Williams digs a good body shot into Dog's ribs.
Williams looks to score with a jab to the body but Dog is just out of range.
Williams lands with a cross.
Dog lunges at Williams with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Williams's hand.
Williams misses with a low kick.
Williams uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dog.
Dog takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nice jab there from Dog.
Paul Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dog takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Dog throws a hook but Williams avoids it easily.
Williams cracks Dog with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Dog is trying to work for a kimura but Williams is defending well.

Dog wants to work for an arm triangle but Williams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Dog throws a strike but Williams avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Dog controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dog seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Williams for as long as he can get away with.
Dog working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Williams counters with a nice uppercut.
Williams throws a right hand that misses
and Dog counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dog on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Dog throws an overhand right that lands on Williams's shoulder, as Williams tries to avoid the shot.
A big left from Williams misses.
Dog misses with a double jab.
Paul Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Williams goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Nice straight punches there by Williams. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Williams.

Nice uppercut lands for Dog. That snapped Williams's head back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dog is pressing down on Williams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Williams is holding on for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dog is working for a submission of some sort.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Williams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Dog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Williams connects with a jab.
Nice defenses there by Williams.
Williams scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Williams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Williams throws a body punch but Dog moves out of range.
Dog just misses with a punch to the body.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Williams scores with the left hand. Dog knows he should have avoided that one.

Crazy Dog is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Dog counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Williams attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Dog throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dog ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Dog counters with a one-two to the body.
Paul Williams seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dog checks a leg kick.

Dog's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Williams connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dog scrambles back to his feet.

Williams throws a wild body kick that Dog sees coming a mile off.
Nice takedown defense from Williams. No joy for Dog on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crazy Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Dog counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dog takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Williams keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Dog is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily.

Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dog. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Williams is not content to let Dog control the position.
Dog fails to land a wild elbow strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Williams throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dog dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on Dog's head and hops out.
Dog moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Williams misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dog.
Dog takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Dog looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Dog persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing.
Williams lands a jab to the nose.
Williams throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dog on the side of the head.
Dog takes one on the button.
Dog works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Williams connects with a right hand. Dog shakes it off.
Williams throws a shot from downtown. Dog moves away and avoids it.
Williams misses with a head kick.
Williams throws a big shot that misses.
Williams scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Dog closes this distance looking for a takedown but Williams circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crazy Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dog avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dog throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dog off to one side.

Dog takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Dog moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Williams moves forwards but Dog connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dog looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Williams lands a glancing blow to the side of Dog's head.
Dog shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dog's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Dog gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Williams missing with a left hand there. Dog was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dog swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Williams cracks Dog with a right hand to the side of the head.
Williams digs a good hook to Dog's body.
Dog looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Dog lands a nice shot to the body.

Williams lands with a hook. Dog tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Dog drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Williams seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dog stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dog controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dog trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Crazy Dog wasn't doing enough on the ground.

I think Dog has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
