Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Booker McQuade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson's entrance music is My time is now. A fine choice. McQuade has chosen Eyes of a Ranger as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Booker McQuade!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson fails with the takedown.
Anderson shoots in and drives through. McQuade sprawls well.
Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but McQuade sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.

McQuade connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Anderson's hands.


It looks like Sparky Anderson has been cut.
Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McQuade tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McQuade to the ground. McQuade escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McQuade dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McQuade lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Anderson circles away quickly and effectively.

Anderson shoots for a double leg takedown but McQuade sprawls well. He's pushed Anderson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

McQuade really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Anderson tries to pass to full mount but McQuade defends it.

Anderson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McQuade is just riding it out for now. Anderson eventually gives up the hold.

Anderson is looking for a kimura but McQuade is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anderson to get the leverage.

That was a close round but I would say that Sparky Anderson will probably get the nod.

McQuade throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anderson moves out of range of the strikes.

McQuade with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Anderson to score with a decent uppercut.

McQuade walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Anderson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
