Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Ang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harbor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ang comes to the cage accompanied by ACDC- Long Way To The Top. Rodney Ang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Ang!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Harbor!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ang misses with an uppercut.
Harbor chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ang can pounce on him.
Harbor swings widly with a right hand
and Ang counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ang lands with a good body shot.

Ang cracks Harbor with an uppercut from hell and Harbor crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Ang's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


It looks like James Harbor has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Harbor has his foot on Ang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ang works his way back into a safe position though.
Harbor has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ang has passed into side control.
Harbor is trying to get back to half guard.
Harbor sneaks back into half guard.
Harbor punching from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harbor's head.

Harbor tries to roll over but Ang keeps him under control.
Harbor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ang wants to pass to mount but Harbor is defending the position.
Ang lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Harbor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harbor.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ang with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Harbor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Harbor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Harbor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Harbor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Ang avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Harbor looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ang puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Harbor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harbor.

Harbor working for a triangle but Ang defends it easily.

Harbor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ang defends it easily.
Ang sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harbor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ang has managed to get both his arms back between Harbor's legs - danger averted.
Ang trying to control but Harbor is working from the bottom.
Ang working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Ang controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Harbor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ang takes a swing at Harbor's ribcage but misses.
Rodney Ang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ang takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ang comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ang lands with a good body shot.
Ang is looking to wear down Harbor with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Ang moves into the clinch successfully.
With the fighters up against the cage, Ang throws an elbow but misses.
Harbor lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ang backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ang lands a left hand.

Ang breaks from the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Ang misses the target.
Harbor walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Harbor swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ang tried to score with a low kick but Harbor checks it.
Ang comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ang cracks Harbor with a big right hand and Harbor goes down!


Harbor is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Harbor is still in real trouble! Can Ang finish him?
Ang won't allow Harbor to sweep him here.
Harbor seems to have recovered his senses.
Harbor can't keep his opponent in guard - Ang advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ang is taking a breather. Harbor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Harbor missing with punches from the bottom.

Ang blocks the strikes from Harbor.
Harbor is refusing to be controlled, as Ang sits in half guard.
Harbor has hold of Ang's hands but Ang slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ang is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Harbor gets back to full guard.
Ang has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harbor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ang decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Harbor, up you get!
Ang misses with a hook. Harbor ducked under it nicely.

Ang misses with a body shot.
Ang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Harbor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ang throws a left and a right that both miss

and Harbor counters with a shoot takedown. Ang fights it but they end up in guard.

Harbor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ang manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Harbor has Ang in his guard.

Harbor throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ang uses it to pass to side control.
Harbor sneaks back into half guard.
Ang controlling the action here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Harbor tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Harbor is looking for a sweep. Ang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ang connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Ang throws a hook to the side of Harbor's head but Harbor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ang avoids the body shot from Harbor.
Harbor jabs Ang right on the nose. Ang blinks but takes it well.
Ang connects with a solid leg kick.
Ang throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed right hand from Harbor misses the target.
Ang works Harbor's body with a nice hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Harbor steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ang.

Ang feints and then cracks Harbor's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Harbor down.
Ang loads up on a big right hand but Harbor slips the punch.
Ang scores with a hook to the body. Harbor takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Harbor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Ang counters with a nice body kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ang darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ang lands an elbow inside.
Ang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harbor can do to turn this around?
Harbor tries to throw a body punch but Ang avoids it by throwing Harbor back against the cage.

A short right from Ang.
Ang lands a nice shot to the body.
Ang presses Harbor against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Ang lands an elbow that stopped Harbor in his tracks for a moment.
Ang digs a right hand underneath Harbor's ribcage. Harbor let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Ang floors Harbor with a big punch on the inside! Harbor is trying to recover but Ang dives into side control.
Harbor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harbor keeps working.
Harbor is trying to escape the position but Ang is controlling the position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ang wants to control but Harbor is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rodney Ang wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Ang lands a nice leg kick that just misses Harbor's sensitive parts.
Ang wants to land a leg kick but Harbor is out of range.
Rodney Ang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Harbor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Harbor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ang moves away.

Jab, jab by Ang - just one landing.
BOOM! Ang lands a beautiful left hook that drops Harbor. Harbor tries to recover but Ang is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Harbor lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodney Ang!
