Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Coll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sioux Sie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vincent Coll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sioux Sie!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Coll - that will leave a mark!
Coll tries to land a front kick but Sie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Coll gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sie working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Sie misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coll just stands there and leans against the cage.
Coll misses with a knee strike.
Coll letting Sie take a breather here.

Sie successfully pulls guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Sie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Coll escapes and throws Sie's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Sie is trying to escape the position but Coll is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sie is trying to control Coll's posture but Coll avoids it.
Sie is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Sie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sie won't allow Coll to pass to mount.
Coll slows the pace down in half guard.
Sie trying to control from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Vincent Coll just wasn't active enough.

Sie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Coll's guard.
Sie trying to control but Coll is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Coll looking for a sweep. Not yet Coll, not yet.

Sie trying to control the position from guard on top but Coll is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sie trying to control but Coll is working from the bottom.
Coll is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sioux Sie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Sie throws a body punch but Coll moves out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Sie.
Sie tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Coll is able to avoid easily.
A jab lands there for Sie.
Sie lands a lovely overhand right.
Sie misses with a low kick.
Coll blocks a low kick nicely.
Vincent Coll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coll throws a low kick, looking for Sie's leg but Sie calmly moves out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head kick misses from Coll.
Coll pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Coll scores with a leg kick.
Coll scores with a spinning back kick!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sioux Sie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sie misses with a double jab.
Coll throws a lazy body kick

so Sie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sie wants to control from the top but Coll keeps moving.
Sie throws an elbow that misses. Coll uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sie's guard. Nice move by Coll!
Coll slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sie is trying to keep Coll in close.
Coll will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sie keeping moving, preventing Coll from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vincent Coll.
Coll lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sie throws the left hand but Coll avoids the punch easily.
Sie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Coll throws a head kick that misses

and Sie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coll's guard.

Sioux Sie has got the better of the ground game so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sie scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Coll misses with a series of wild punches.
Sie misses with a straight left.
Vincent Coll is winning the standup battle so far.
Coll throws out a leg kick but Sie moves out of range and Coll only half commits.
Sie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coll avoids it really well and circles away.

Coll rushes Sie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Coll landing knees to the head.
Coll tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Sie stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Coll tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sie avoids it.
Coll working hard to break the clinch.

Sie is looking to take this one to the mat.
Vincent Coll has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sioux Sie.
Sie tries to pull guard but Coll holds him up against the cage and eventually Sie drops back down to his feet.

Coll keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sie's efforts to push away.

Sioux Sie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Coll pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Coll to score with a decent uppercut.
Coll avoids the head kick by Sie.
Sie keeps the fight on the outside.
Sie fakes the leg kick and cracks Coll in the body.
Vincent Coll is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Coll misses with a low kick.
Coll is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Sie throws a sloppy head kick and Coll moves out of range easily.
Sie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Coll moves away.

and Sie counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vincent Coll is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sie avoids the head kick by Coll.
Sie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coll moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sie misses with a head kick.
Coll fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sie.
Sie blocks a leg kick.
Good exchange - Sie coming out on top.
Coll misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Coll moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Coll looks to land a body kick but Sie moved away.

Sie scores with a hook to the body. Coll takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Sie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Coll pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Coll fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sie moves into the clinch successfully.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Sie.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Coll leaning his opponent against the cage.
Coll is looking to control Sie's arms but Sie gets an underhook and turns him. Now Coll has his back to the cage.
Coll using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Coll landing knees to the body.

Sie decides to pull guard.
Sie being controlled here, momentarily.
Coll advances position into side control!
Coll tries to move to mount but Sie blocks the move with his legs.
Sioux Sie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

You can see the frustration on Sie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vincent Coll has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sie is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vincent Coll.
I think Sie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
