Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Renner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renner comes to the cage accompanied by Little Pills. Petrenko has chosen Bro Hymm/ Pennywise as his entrance music. Dmitry Petrenko has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Renner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dmitry Petrenko!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renner shoots in looking for a takedown but Petrenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Renner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Danga de danga de dang - Petrenko scores with a four punch combination!
Petrenko thows a leg kick but Renner checks it
and Renner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
No luck for Renner with that takedown attempt.
Petrenko lands with a nice combination. Renner backs away looking to recover.
Renner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Renner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Petrenko throws a series of punches but Renner moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Renner ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Petrenko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Renner is out of range.
Petrenko connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Renner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Renner is looking for a kimura but Petrenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Renner to get the leverage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Petrenko is trying to control but can't.

Petrenko is refusing to be controlled, as Renner sits in half guard.
Renner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Renner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Petrenko's head.
Renner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Petrenko is looking to escape.
Petrenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Renner is nestled in close to Petrenko, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Petrenko preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Renner content to control rather than advance.

Renner seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Petrenko for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Petrenko counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Renner drives through with a takedown into Petrenko's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Petrenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Petrenko is pulling down on Renner's head. It's preventing any offense from Renner, at least for the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Renner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Renner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Petrenko throws a front kick that sends Renner stumbling back into the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Petrenko misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dmitry Petrenko will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Petrenko leaves Renner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Petrenko tries to bum rush Renner with a series of wild strikes but Renner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Renner shoots in for a takedown but Petrenko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A nice leg kick lands there from Petrenko.
Renner checks the leg kick nicely there.
Renner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Petrenko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Petrenko scores with a one two! Renner had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Renner dives in and grabs Petrenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Petrenko pushes down on Renner's head and hops out.
Petrenko feints and then cracks Renner's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Renner down.

Petrenko throws a right hand that Renner ducks under and follows up with a left that Renner also avoids with ease.

Petrenko throws a low kick but it's checked well by Renner.

Renner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Petrenko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Renner has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Petrenko lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Renner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Petrenko.
Petrenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Petrenko throws a sloppy head kick and Renner moves out of range easily.
Dmitry Petrenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A lazy left from Renner finds it's target.

Jeremy Renner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Petrenko throws a left and a right that both miss
and Renner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Renner scores with a hook.
Renner dodges the punch combination from Petrenko.
Dmitry Petrenko seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That kick from Petrenko tenderised Renner's leg. Renner is trying to keep his angry face on.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dmitry Petrenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Renner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Horrible takedown by Renner or perhaps it was just good defense by Petrenko which made him look bad.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Renner checks a leg kick.

Renner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Petrenko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Petrenko is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Renner asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Renner is looking to take a break and control but Petrenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Renner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Petrenko to see if he's OK.
