The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera has his takedown stuffed
and Emelianenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rivera misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko lands the left hand.
Rivera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Emelianenko swivels and escapes.
Rivera shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Emelianenko defends it nicely.
Fedor Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mountain Rivera.
Emelianenko throws the left hand but Rivera avoids the punch easily.
Rivera fails to land the takedown.
Emelianenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rivera sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Emelianenko throws a low kick but Rivera avoids it.
Rivera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Emelianenko is fending him off so far but Rivera persists. Nope, Emelianenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Rivera shoots in but Emelianenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rivera is defended easily by Emelianenko.
Emelianenko scores with a jab to the jaw.

Rivera doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rivera takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Emelianenko uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rivera has time to react.
Emelianenko lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rivera shoots for a takedown but Emelianenko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Emelianenko lands a beautiful left hook that drops Rivera. Rivera tries to recover but Emelianenko is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Rivera lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
