Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Virgil Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jordan Huges!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huges doesn't manage to clinch there - Hunter circles away.

Hunter takes the fight into the clinch.
Hunter tries for a takedown but Huges manages to get underhooks.
Hunter working Huges over with knees to the body.

Huges breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hunter looks to land a body kick but Huges moved away.
Huges throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hunter.

Huges darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Huges wants to free his trapped foot but Hunter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hunter is staying active underneath Huges, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hunter moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Huges wants to stand but Hunter is controlling his posture from full guard.
Huges stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Huges trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hunter's guard.
Hunter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Huges tries to reverse the position but Hunter maintains control.
Hunter thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Huges can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hunter working for a guillotine from mount but Huges is in no mood to give up.
Huges wants to control but Hunter is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunter landing shots from mount.
Hunter throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Hunter breaks from Huges's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hunter connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Huges holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hunter tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hunter looking to control but Huges is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Huges is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hunter with a couple of short strikes.
Huges is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Hunter avoids the attempt from Huges to control.
BOOM! Hunter connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Virgil Hunter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Huges throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Huges drives through and clinches with Hunter against the cage.

Hunter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hunter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huges tries to stand but Hunter is controlling from the bottom.

Hunter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huges doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huges manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Huges is fighting to break Hunter's control of his arms but Hunter is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Huges is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hunter wants to sweep but no luck.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hunter is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Huges has his hands clasped together but Hunter extends an breaks Huges's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hunter.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Virgil Hunter!
A relieved looking Virgil Hunter thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
