PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wandeco Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Awesome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua comes to the cage accompanied by For Whom The Bell Tolls.. Johnny Awesome told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Awesome!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Johnny Awesome has been cut.
Awesome fails to land with a series of punches.
Rua throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Rua lands a big head kick that sends Awesome tumbling to the mat! Rua takes a step backwards and waves Awesome back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Wandeco Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd cheers as Rua lands an impressive looking overhand right. Awesome doesn't seem phased though.
Awesome rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rua moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rua closes the distance and clinches.
Rua with a knee to the head.
Awesome is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rua unloads a knee to the mid-section. Awesome lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Rua connects with a knee to the head.

That has opened up Johnny Awesome's cut even more.

Awesome is rocked!
Rua prevents the takedown attempt.

Rua drops Awesome with a big knee straight up the middle! Awesome is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Awesome is still on wobbly legs! Can Rua finish him?
Awesome looks winded!
Crack! A monster head kick from Rua and Awesome falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Rua!
