Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Folignus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasheed Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Folignus comes into the arena with Laces Out blaring out of the sound system. Willis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kendrick Lamar - HiiiPower. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Folignus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rasheed Willis!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis throws a right and a left that Folignus avoids nicely.
Willis misses with a takedown attempt - Folignus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Folignus misses with a low kick as Willis jumps back.

Willis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Folignus seems keen to control Willis's posture.
Folignus tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Folignus trying to keep a closed guard but Willis is proving a slippery customer.

Folignus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Willis defends well.
Folignus pulls Willis in close to his closed guard and prevents Willis from doing any damage or advancing position.
Folignus looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Willis trying to control the position from guard on top but Folignus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We're going to have a standup here because Nick Folignus wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Willis takes one to the chin there.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Folignus is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Willis.
A jab from Folignus does it's job there.
Willis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Folignus.
Nick Folignus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Willis moves out of range as Folignus throws a body kick.
Willis fails to land the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Folignus connects with an inside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Folignus connects with a crisp jab.
Good exchange - Folignus coming out on top.
A head kick misses from Folignus.
A head kick by Folignus misses

and Willis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Folignus won't be happy with that.
Folignus gets back to half guard.

Willis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Folignus on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Willis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Folignus is trying to control but can't.
Willis winds up and cracks Folignus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Folignus tries to roll over but Willis keeps him under control.
Willis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Still in half guard, Willis seems content to control.
Folignus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Willis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Willis's back!

Folignus working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Willis is doing well to defend. Folignus seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Willis is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Folignus!
A very excited looking Nick Folignus rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
