The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn cracks Monzon with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Monzon throws a sloppy head kick
and Gunn counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Monzon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gunn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Gunn dives in and scores a takedown into Monzon's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gunn is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Monzon is surviving well by controlling Gunn's body position as best he can.
Gunn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Monzon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gunn is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Monzon has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gunn has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Monzon taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gunn doesn't care though - he's delighted!
