Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerome McMann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Zamfirescu!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMann misses with an attempted mid kick.
Zamfirescu misses with a few strikes there.
Zamfirescu tries to bum rush McMann with a series of wild strikes but McMann uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McMann fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zamfirescu avoids it really well and circles away.
McMann throws a right and a left that both miss.
McMann just misses with a punch to the body.
McMann's corner calls for a 1-2. McMann obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Zamfirescu lands with a good body shot.
McMann is breathing heavily.
McMann fails with the takedown.

Zamfirescu bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops McMann! He dives into his guard looking to finish!


It looks like Jerome McMann has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zamfirescu wants to stand but McMann is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zamfirescu wants to stand and escape but instead McMann has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
McMann won't allow Zamfirescu to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McMann trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McMann prevents Zamfirescu from getting back to his feet.
McMann throws a big right hand that misses.
McMann has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zamfirescu is looking to stand up but McMann isn't so interested in that idea.
McMann's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Zamfirescu wants to stand and escape but McMann is having none of it.
Zamfirescu keeping moving, preventing McMann from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jerome McMann wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Zamfirescu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McMann.
Zamfirescu swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zamfirescu throws out a loose jab but McMann uses good head movement to avoid it.

McMann moves into the clinch.

Zamfirescu breaks from the clinch.
Zamfirescu tries to bum rush McMann with a series of wild strikes but McMann uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McMann fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerome McMann. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zamfirescu leaves McMann with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McMann avoids a punch combination nicely.
Zamfirescu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zamfirescu wants it to stay on the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Zamfirescu. Those never looked like landing.
Jerome McMann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McMann shoots in for a double leg but Zamfirescu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McMann showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Zamfirescu.
McMann doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McMann walks straight into a right hand from Zamfirescu - that's dropped him! Zamfirescu jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save McMann from any more punishment! McMann complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tony Zamfirescu!
