Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vevrin Betlach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Betlach has chosen Higher Ground as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vevrin Betlach!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Betlach was well out of range. Poor timing from Cain.
Betlach misses with a looping left.
Cain wants to land a leg kick but Betlach is out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as Cain blocks the leg kick.
Cain throws a right and a left that both miss.
Betlach keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cain takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Cain shoots in but no luck this time.
Cain throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cain checks a leg kick.
Cain connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A good leg kick by Cain.
That kick from Betlach tenderised Cain's leg. Cain is trying to keep his angry face on.
Betlach is looking to slow Cain down with leg kicks.
Cain walks into a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A solid body kick from Cain.

Cain fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Betlach to the ground. Cain is now in Betlach's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cain won't allow Betlach to sweep him here.

Betlach pulls Cain in close to his closed guard and prevents Cain from doing any damage or advancing position.
Betlach is trying to control the position but Cain postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Vevrin Betlach.
Betlach misses with a kick to the body.
Betlach throws a leg kick but Cain checks it.
Betlach gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cain.

Betlach looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Betlach.
Vevrin Betlach is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cain walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Betlach checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cain lands a jab-cross combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Betlach tries a head kick but it misses.
Cain shoots in but Betlach avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cain throws a right hand that misses
and Betlach counters with a body kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Betlach enables Cain to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Betlach manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Betlach is trying to control the position but Cain postures up.
Betlach lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cain!
Cain is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Betlach looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Betlach scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Betlach with shots to the head and body - Cain looks very uncomfortable down there.
Betlach working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Betlach wants to control the pace but Cain is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cain is trying desperately to improve position.
Betlach lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Cain is in all sorts of trouble here.
Betlach is landing with some decent strikes but Cain is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cain tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Betlach lands a heavy elbow.
Betlach connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Betlach looking to control but Cain is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Cain takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Oh Cain is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cain wants to hold on but Betlach pushes him away.
Betlach content just to control the position here.
Betlach has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cain's face.
Cain is looking to improve his position but Betlach isn't that keen on the idea.
Cain is working hard here to advance position.
Betlach is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cain can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Betlach cracks Cain with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vevrin Betlach!
