Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mookie Magaba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magaba comes into the arena with Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become blaring out of the sound system. Mac Jackson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance and pushes Magaba back into the cage.
Magaba tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jackson lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Mookie Magaba has been cut.
Magaba jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Magaba around his waist. Magaba gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jackson lands an elbow just above Magaba 's eye.
Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Magaba changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jackson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Magaba throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Magaba feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magaba accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jackson is controlling Magaba's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mac Jackson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Magaba shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Magaba's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jackson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jackson wants to clinch.

Magaba throws a looping overhand right but Jackson ducks down to avoid it.

Jackson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Magaba rather than just go for the knockout.

Nice uppercut there from Magaba.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Magaba.

Jackson lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jackson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Magaba backwards.
Jackson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Jackson lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mac Jackson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mookie Magaba's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Magaba tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Magaba somewhat.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Magaba pushes him off.

Horrible takedown by Magaba or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson which made him look bad.

Magaba throws a low kick, looking for Jackson's leg but Jackson calmly moves out of range.
Magaba takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Sloppy strikes from Magaba. Those never looked like landing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jackson. Magaba does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jackson drops Magaba with a naaaaasty hook - Magaba is in real trouble here! Jackson dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mac Jackson!

During a confident post fight interview, Mac Jackson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
