Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Mehoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Welcome to the Jungle. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Virgil Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Mehoff!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter moves into the clinch.
Mehoff drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hunter gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mehoff goes for a takedown attempt but Hunter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hunter. That's going to slow Mehoff down.

Hunter gets a double leg takedown into Mehoff's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mehoff is adopting a defensive guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mehoff is on top in guard.

Hunter wants to stand but Mehoff is controlling the position.
Mehoff trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hunter working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Mehoff has passed into half guard!

Mehoff is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mehoff.

Mehoff is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hunter is just riding it out for now. Mehoff eventually gives up the hold.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hunter pushes Mehoff up against the cage in a clinch.

Hunter successfully pulls guard.
Hunter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mehoff passes Hunter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mehoff moves nicely into side control.

Mehoff is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hunter has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mehoff is looking to take a break and control but Hunter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hunter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mehoff on the ground.

Mehoff is trying to get an arm triangle but Hunter is defending well.
Mehoff wants to control for a moment but Hunter uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Mehoff is trying to control. Hunter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mehoff is working for a kimura but Hunter is defending it quite comfortably.
Hunter is looking to improve his position.

Mehoff is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hunter sees it coming and defends easily.

Mehoff is breathing heavily.

Hunter missing with punches from the bottom.
Mehoff is controlling the pace.

Hunter wants to get back to his feet.
Hunter tries to get to full guard but Mehoff has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hunter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hunter shoots in and gets a takedown into Mehoff's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mehoff has control of Hunter's left arm, preventing Hunter from doing any damage.
Hunter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mehoff is keeping the position for now.
Mehoff has his hands on Hunter's head, controlling the position.
Hunter distracts Mehoff with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hunter wants to control from the top but Mehoff keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mehoff pulls Hunter in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Mehoff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hunter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mehoff circles away quickly and effectively.
Hunter lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Sloppy strikes from Hunter. Those never looked like landing.
Hunter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mehoff manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Mehoff decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hunter's guard.
Mehoff slips nicely into half guard.

Mehoff is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hunter defends it well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mehoff is trying for a kimura here. Hunter looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Mehoff wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Mehoff!
