The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ik keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ik is defended easily by Powell.
Powell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Powell looks to throw the jab but Ik is out of range.

Powell gets a double leg takedown into Ik's guard.

Powell throws a strike but Ik rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ik accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ik throws an elbow that misses. Powell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ik's guard. Nice move by Powell!

Powell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ik wants to control the position but Powell says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
