Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hayes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Blood of Cuchulainn - Mychael & Jeff Danna. Potter has chosen THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

No joy there for Potter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hayes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Potter throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hayes's head.
Hayes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Hayes throws a series of punches but Potter moves out of range.
Hayes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Potter manages to avoid it.
Hayes on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Hayes stuffs the takedown.
Hayes throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hayes looks to land a combination but Potter avoids it well.
Potter tries for a takedown but Hayes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Potter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Potter's corner calls for a 1-2. Potter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hayes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
