The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tremendous tries to score with a low kick but Maddox moves his leg out of the way.
Tremendous throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Maddox sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Maddox. Tremendous does a little dance to reset his feet.

Tremendous looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Maddox loads up on a big right hand but Tremendous slips the punch.
Tremendous paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Maddox throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tremendous was covering up waiting for the punch and Maddox finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Tremendous had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maddox defends it easily.

Maddox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tremendous has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maddox has managed to get both his arms back between Tremendous's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maddox seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tremendous does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Maddox wants to control but Tremendous is keeping him busy.
Maddox lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Tremendous is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maddox scores with a couple of nice shots.
