Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doom Unit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Purple Aki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Slim Whitman - Indian Love Call kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Doom Unit has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aki lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Unit lands a nice shot to the body.
Unit avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Aki is looking to clinch.
Aki is looking to clinch but Unit is avoiding it.
Doom Unit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Unit checks a leg kick.
Unit tries to land a front kick but Aki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Aki steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Unit.
Unit will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Aki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Unit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Doom Unit.
I think Aki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
