Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Skinner Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Beckett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowe's entrance music is Angry Johnny & The Killbillies - A Love More True. A fine choice. Jim Beckett has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Skinner Crowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Beckett!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowe falls off balance throwing a combination
and Beckett counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Beckett lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Crowe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Beckett.
Crowe slips a jab from Beckett.
Beckett swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Crowe moves out of range as Beckett strikes.
Beckett cracks Crowe with a right hand to the side of the head.
Beckett throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Crowe on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Crowe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Beckett.
Beckett does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Crowe looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Beckett throws a hook but Crowe blocks it.
Crowe avoids the head kick by Beckett.

Crowe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beckett.
Beckett throws a wild body kick that Crowe sees coming a mile off.

A head kick from Beckett lands but Crowe takes it in his stride.

That kick from Beckett tenderised Crowe's leg. Crowe is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Crowe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Crowe.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Beckett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Beckett got a little sloppy there for a moment and Crowe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Beckett has managed to get both his arms back between Crowe's legs - danger averted.

Crowe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beckett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beckett fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Crowe.

Crowe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Beckett connects with a leg kick. Crowe looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Beckett lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Beckett looks to land a combination but Crowe avoids it well.
Beckett with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Crowe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Crowe takes one to the chin there.
Beckett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Beckett lands with a right hand.
Crowe takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Crowe uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beckett.

Crowe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Crowe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Beckett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Crowe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Beckett has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Crowe blocks a head kick by Beckett.
Beckett scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Crowe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beckett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crowe somewhat.
Crowe is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Beckett uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Crowe tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I've got Beckett winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
