Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zen Blood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mariusz Cichon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Zen Blood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mariusz Cichon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Cichon.


It looks like Zen Blood has been cut.
Cichon works Blood's body with a nice hook.

Blood feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cichon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Cichon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Blood throws an elbow that misses. Cichon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blood's guard. Nice move by Cichon!
Cichon stays in close to Blood's body and controls the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Blood is looking for a triangle here but Cichon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Blood sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Cichon looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Blood makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blood.
Blood looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cichon is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cichon is looking to stand up but Blood won't let him.

Blood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Blood tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cichon controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mariusz Cichon was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Blood closes the distance and clinches up with Cichon, looking for a takedown. Blood pushes Cichon against the cage but Cichon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blood fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Blood shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zen Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Blood darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cichon keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Blood is thwarting Cichon's attempts to control the position.
Cichon is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cichon trying to control from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Blood looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cichon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Blood is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cichon is just riding it out for now. Blood eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zen Blood will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Blood throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cichon's waist but Cichon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blood off to one side.
Blood takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Cichon throws out a powerful jab.
Cichon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Blood shoots in for a double leg but Cichon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cichon changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Cichon scores with a nice head shot.
That kick from Cichon tenderised Blood's leg. Blood is trying to keep his angry face on.

Cichon gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blood on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Blood wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zen Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cichon breaks the clinch.
Cichon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Blood's head.
Mariusz Cichon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Blood is defended easily by Cichon.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cichon connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


Blood is rocked!


Zen Blood's cut is getting worse.

Cichon cracks Blood with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Blood looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Cichon finish him?
Oh Blood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cichon lands a big right hand that sends Blood crashing to the mat! Cichon stays standing though and waves Blood back to his feet!
Cichon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Cichon cracks Blood with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Cichon has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Blood to stand back up!


Zen Blood's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Blood shoots in but Cichon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Cichon counters with a nice right hand that sends Blood toppling to the canvas! Blood scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Cichon finish him?!
A bone on bone clash there as Blood blocks the leg kick.
Cichon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Blood.
Blood fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Blood seems to have got his legs back now.
Cichon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Blood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cichon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blood somewhat.

Blood misses with a takedown attempt - Cichon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cichon throws a leg kick which misses Blood's front leg but catches the back leg as Blood tries to avoid it.
Cichon stuns Blood with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Cichon moves into the clinch successfully.

Blood tries to score a body lock takedown but Cichon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cichon pushes Blood back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cichon with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Cichon's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cichon lands with a left to the head.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Cichon receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
Blood can't get the takedown.
Cichon softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Blood wants a takedown but no success here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cichon takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mariusz Cichon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Cichon has closed the distance and engaged Blood in a clinch.
Blood tries for a takedown. No joy.
Cichon is trying to stall.
Blood can't get the takedown.

Cichon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cichon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cichon wants it to stay on the feet.

Blood is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cichon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cichon lands a left hand that snaps the head of Blood backwards.

Jeez, Zen Blood's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zen Blood's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mariusz Cichon!
