And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juha Laukkanen!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laukkanen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


It looks like Benjamin Goldstein has been cut.
No luck for Goldstein with that takedown attempt.
Laukkanen lands a nice shot to the body.
Laukkanen lands a right hook to the body.
Laukkanen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Laukkanen scores with a nice strike.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Laukkanen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Goldstein swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Goldstein darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Laukkanen connects with a right hand. Goldstein shakes it off.
Laukkanen shoots in looking for a takedown. Goldstein tries to sprawl out of it but Laukkanen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goldstein manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Laukkanen throws a looping overhand right but Goldstein ducks down to avoid it.
Goldstein throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Goldstein is defended easily by Laukkanen.
Laukkanen fails to land with a series of punches.
Laukkanen is looking to clinch but Goldstein is avoiding it.
Laukkanen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Laukkanen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Goldstein.
Laukkanen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Goldstein looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Juha Laukkanen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laukkanen thuds a left hand into Goldstein's body.
Goldstein swings for the body but Laukkanen moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters circling - Laukkanen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Goldstein misses with a takedown attempt - Laukkanen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benjamin Goldstein. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laukkanen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Goldstein pinned against the cage. Goldstein gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice jab there from Laukkanen.
Laukkanen misses with a looping left.

Laukkanen scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Laukkanen looks to land a combination but Goldstein avoids it well.

and Goldstein counters with a nice double leg into side control. Laukkanen won't be happy with that.

Goldstein has hold of Laukkanen's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Laukkanen seems comfortable defending it but Goldstein has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Laukkanen is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Laukkanen is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Goldstein couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Benjamin Goldstein!
