Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Shouse pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Shouse scores with a takedown into Ferguson's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Shouse preventing the sweep.
Shouse controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Shouse has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ferguson is proving hard to escape from.
Shouse pushing down on Ferguson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Shouse not doing much here.
Shouse trying to pass the guard but Ferguson defending well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shouse in particular looking to stall.
Shouse is looking to take a break and control but Ferguson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joshua Shouse wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Ferguson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shouse looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No luck for Shouse with that takedown attempt.

Ferguson closes the distance and clinches.
Shouse is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Ferguson tries to pull guard but Shouse won't allow it.

Shouse drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ferguson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ferguson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Shouse throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shouse tries to clinch up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ferguson enables Shouse to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ferguson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ferguson looking for subs off his back but Shouse has passed one foot through into half guard.

Shouse seems to be working for a kimura but Ferguson defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ferguson wants to get back to his feet.
Shouse throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ferguson wants to control but Shouse passes into side.
Ferguson tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shouse decides to stand back up. Shouse steps back and let's Ferguson get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Shouse shoots in for a takedown but Ferguson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shouse shoots in looking for a takedown. Ferguson tries to sprawl out of it but Shouse keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ferguson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Shouse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ferguson drives through and clinches with Shouse against the cage.
Shouse tries to pull guard but Ferguson holds him up against the cage and eventually Shouse drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Shouse . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ferguson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Ferguson blocks the strikes from Shouse .

Shouse makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ferguson has a takedown stuffed.
Ferguson looks to land a combination. Shouse sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Ferguson wants to stand up but Shouse has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Shouse has his hands clasped together around Ferguson's back. He's all about the action.

Ferguson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shouse doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ferguson.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joshua Shouse will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Ferguson shoots in and bounces Shouse off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Shouse is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ferguson is controlling him.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ferguson controls Shouse momentarily but Shouse frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ferguson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Joshua Shouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Ferguson.

Ferguson closes the distance and pushes Shouse back into the cage.
Ferguson lands an elbow just above Shouse 's eye.
Shouse has had enough of the clinch but Ferguson keeps him there for the moment.

Ferguson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ferguson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Shouse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Joshua Shouse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shouse would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Josh Ferguson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Josh Ferguson.
