Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Waitzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earnest Abe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waitzel's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dimmu Borgir - Puritania. Abe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Uncle Sam Goddamn. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Waitzel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Earnest Abe!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waitzel keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Waitzel staying out of range there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Abe. Waitzel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Abe moves forwards but Waitzel connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Abe misses the target.
Abe pivots, looking for a leg kick but Waitzel is out of range and Abe settles back down.
Waitzel avoids the body shot from Abe.
Abe misses with a leg kick
and Waitzel counters with a good low kick that Abe was not able to check.
Waitzel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Abe fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Waitzel on the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Abe sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Waitzel takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Abe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Waitzel was well out of range. Poor timing from Abe.

Earnest Abe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters circling - Abe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Waitzel moves out of range of the body kick from Abe.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Abe throws a sloppy head kick and Waitzel moves out of range easily.
Waitzel tries to work over Abe's front leg with a kick but Abe checks it.
Abe darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Abe loads up on a big right hand but Waitzel slips the punch.
Abe throws a leg kick but Waitzel sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Waitzel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Waitzel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Abe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Earnest Abe has been cut.
Abe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Abe connects with a leg kick. Waitzel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Abe moves out of range as Waitzel strikes.
Abe throws a low kick but Waitzel avoids it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Abe bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Shane Waitzel will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Earnest Abe's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Waitzel cracks Abe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Waitzel takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Abe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Abe connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Abe throws a leg kick that is checked
and Waitzel counters with a straight right hand.
Abe staying out of range there.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Abe.
Waitzel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Shane Waitzel has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Waitzel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Abe.

and Waitzel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Waitzel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Abe takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Waitzel misses with an uppercut.
Waitzel blocks the body kick.
Abe scores with a kick to the midsection.
Abe throws a predictable looking body shot
and Waitzel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Waitzel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Abe sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Waitzel misses with a straight right.
Abe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Abe paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Abe jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Abe lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Abe buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Abe finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Abe connects with a solid leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abe walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Waitzel checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Waitzel fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Abe checks it well.

Abe pivots, looking for a leg kick but Waitzel is out of range and Abe settles back down.
Abe connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Waitzel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Abe.

Earnest Abe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Abe is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

enabling Waitzel to counter with a crisp jab.
Waitzel throws an overhand right that lands on Abe's shoulder, as Abe tries to avoid the shot.

Waitzel drops Abe with a beautiful combination! Abe stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Waitzel is looking for the KO!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abe tries to get into range but Waitzel steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Abe! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Waitzel scores the big KO victory!
