Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Silva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Darude - Sandstorm . Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
Smith is looking to clinch.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silva defends it easily.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smith is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
