Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roope Latvala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Kahn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Latvala might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Children of Bodom - Tie my rope. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roope Latvala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Kahn!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Latvala takes one on the button.
Kahn moves into range and connects with a jab.

Latvala manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kahn on his heels. He'll look to pass Kahn's guard now, I'm sure.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tyson Kahn.
Kahn swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Latvala walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Latvala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kahn's waist but Kahn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Latvala off to one side.

Kahn wants to get up but he can't break Latvala's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Latvala manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kahn manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Latvala seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kahn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Latvala has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tyson Kahn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Kahn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Latvala.

Latvala is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kahn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kahn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Latvala can't do much from the bottom here.

Kahn wants to stand but Latvala has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kahn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Latvala is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Latvala is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
