PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Inspectah Deck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deck comes to the cage accompanied by (WU-TANG CLAN) - Protect Ya Neck. The crowd seem to be enjoying Castillo's choice of entrance music: Static-X - Push It. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Inspectah Deck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roberto Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deck stuffs the takedown attempt from Castillo. Castillo gets slowly back to his feet.
Castillo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Deck looks to score with a jab to the body but Castillo is just out of range.
Deck punishes Castillo's body with a nice straight punch.
A jab from Castillo does it's job there.
Castillo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Castillo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Deck is able to avoid easily.
Deck has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Castillo finds it's way round the side to connect with Deck's head.
Castillo throws a push kick but Deck slaps the foot to one side.
Nice sprawl there from Deck as Castillo shoots in.
Castillo throws a predictable looking body shot

and Deck counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Deck.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Deck looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Castillo lands an elbow just above Deck 's eye.

Castillo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Castillo moves into range and clinches up with Deck.

Castillo pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Deck jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Castillo walks away with a smile on his face. Deck gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice uppercut there from Castillo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Castillo misses with a head kick.
Good work by Castillo as he checks the leg kick.
Deck jabs Castillo right on the nose. Castillo blinks but takes it well.
Deck throws a lazy uppercut
and Castillo counters with a thumping low kick.
Castillo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Inspectah Deck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Castillo.
Castillo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Deck.

Castillo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Castillo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Deck avoids it.

Castillo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Deck is defending well for now.

Castillo throws the kick towards the body but Deck avoids it.

Deck is looking to wear down Castillo with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Roberto Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castillo missing with a left hand there. Deck was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Castillo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deck tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Castillo was well out of range. Poor timing from Deck.

Castillo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Deck.
Sloppy strikes from Deck. Those never looked like landing.
Inspectah Deck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Deck tries to clinch but Castillo is having none of it.
The fighters circling - Castillo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Castillo staying out of range there.
Castillo throws a body kick that misses.
Castillo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A bone on bone clash there as Deck blocks the leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Castillo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Deck gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Castillo to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Deck pulls Castillo in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberto Castillo dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Deck connects with a crisp jab.
Castillo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Deck checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Castillo throws a sloppy head kick and Deck moves out of range easily.

Castillo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Deck tries to bench press Castillo off him but Castillo keeps the position.
Deck manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castillo tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Deck is looking for a sweep. Castillo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Deck trying to hold on to Castillo's head to control him but Castillo postures up.

Castillo tries to stand and escape but Deck actually recovers to full guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Deck cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castillo is trying to escape the mount.
Deck in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deck lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Castillo hang on?

Deck lands a heavy elbow.

Deck with shots to the head and body - Castillo looks very uncomfortable down there.
Deck prevents Castillo from getting the reversal.
A nice elbow there by Deck.


Castillo is rocked!
Deck loads up with a big shot that hurts Castillo! He's pulled Deck in close but Deck has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Castillo survive? More strikes from Deck and Castillo is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Inspectah Deck!
Inspectah Deck gave a mention to Project Mayhem in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
