PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cice Salace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Lotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Tommy Lotus told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 31 - 2, fighting out of London, Tommy Lotus!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salace tries for a takedown but Lotus circles away easily
and Lotus counters with a stiff right hand.

Salace dives in and scores a takedown into Lotus's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lotus lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Salace!

Lotus wants to finish this one by submission but Salace is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lotus.
Lotus wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lotus forces the positional change into back control.
Salace manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lotus's guard. Nice work there by Salace.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Salace in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Salace wants to pass the guard but Lotus is keeping the position.

Lotus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Salace is aware though and is defending well.

Lotus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Salace is squirming around, avoiding Lotus's attempts to control the action.

Salace bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Salace drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lotus dives on top into guard.
Lotus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salace swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Salace throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Lotus decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Salace misses with a takedown

and Lotus counters with a shoot takedown. Salace fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lotus slips nicely into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lotus in particular looking to stall.
Salace is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lotus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lotus's back!
Lotus turns into Salace and is now in his guard.

Lotus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Salace has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lotus has managed to get both his arms back between Salace's legs - danger averted.

Lotus is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lotus is looking to take a break and control but Salace is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lotus is pressing down on Salace's thigh, looking to free his foot. Salace is holding on for now.

so Lotus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lotus misses with a few strikes there.

Salace wants to take the fight to the mat but Lotus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Lotus wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Salace has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lotus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Salace tries to score a body lock takedown but Lotus shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Salace has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lotus clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Lotus is trying to get back to his feet but Salace has full control of the position and if anything, Lotus has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Lotus fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salace to the ground. Lotus is now in Salace's guard.

Salace is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lotus gets to his feet. Salace looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lotus closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lotus tries to pass to full mount but Salace defends it.

Lotus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lotus wants to get back to his feet.
