PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noah Puckerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock has chosen Guns and Roses - Reckless Life as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Eddie Brock was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noah Puckerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Brock!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puckerman tries a head kick but it misses.
Puckerman just misses with a punch to the body.

and Brock counters with a single leg into guard. Puckerman didn't expect that.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Brock stays in close to Puckerman's body and controls the position.
Puckerman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puckerman wants to stand but Brock has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Brock pulls Puckerman in close to prevent any damage.

Brock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Puckerman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Puckerman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Puckerman's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brock with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Puckerman to score with a decent uppercut.
Puckerman is looking to wear down Brock with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

It looks like Noah Puckerman has been cut.
A nice leg kick lands there from Puckerman.
Brock doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Brock is looking to slow Puckerman down with leg kicks.

Brock throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Puckerman on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters circle momentarily. Brock darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Puckerman throws a lazy right hand but Brock sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Brock ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Puckerman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A solid leg kick lands there for Puckerman.

Brock stalks Puckerman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Puckerman's face. Puckerman staggers backwards, shaken.

Brock works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Noah Puckerman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Puckerman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brock moves away.
Puckerman scores with a jab to the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Brock comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Brock is looking to take a break and control but Puckerman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Puckerman is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Puckerman is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Brock's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Brock wants to pass to mount but Puckerman is defending the position.

Puckerman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brock is working away from the top position though.

Brock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Puckerman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Puckerman wants to control but Brock is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Eddie Brock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Brock is nestled in close to Puckerman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Brock wants to advance to full mount but Puckerman doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

I would just about give that final round to Eddie Brock.
I've got Brock winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
