PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Bauer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Django Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bauer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Bauer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Django Brown!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown stuffs the takedown.
A head kick misses from Brown.
Brown throws a nice inside leg kick.
Brown connects with a crisp jab.
Bauer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brown.
Brown scores with a shot to the body.
Brown walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bauer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bauer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Jack Bauer has been cut.

Brown gets a double leg takedown into Bauer's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Brown trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bauer is trying to control the position but Brown postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Bauer.
Brown misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bauer fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Bauer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bauer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bauer off to one side.
Bauer throws a nice looking combination but Brown bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brown throws a combination. Bauer tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Bauer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brown sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bauer somewhat.

and Bauer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brown's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brown looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Bauer is defending well. Brown quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Bauer has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Brown celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

After winning the bout, Django Brown thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
