Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brad Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashton has chosen Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man as his entrance music. Brad Pound has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brad Pound!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Ashton!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pound defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ashton.
Pound lunges at Ashton with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ashton's hand.
Ashton misses with a takedown attempt
and Pound cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ashton dives in and scores a takedown into Pound's guard.
Pound is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ashton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ashton throws a strike but Pound rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ashton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pound doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pound manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ashton wants to stand up but Pound is controlling him.
Pound stands up over Ashton, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ashton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pound defends well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ashton working for a triangle but Pound defends it easily.
Ashton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pound has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pound connects with a couple of short punches.
Pound trying to control but Ashton is working from the bottom.

Pound has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ashton to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pound is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ashton pulls down on the head and he's put Pound to sleep! This one is all over!

Rick Ashton really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that CEC Nutrition Q160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
